Marian Sue Gerlach-Frisch

March 14, 1951 to November 30, 2023

Marian Sue Frisch (née Gerlach), 72, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother of Santa Clarita, California, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family following an extended illness on November 30, 2023.

Sue was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on March 14, 1951, to June Gerlach Harvey (née Harris) and Paul Vincent Gerlach. She was raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and loved spending time there. She married Allan Charles Frisch in Beverly Hills, California, on September 3, 1975. Together, they raised their family in Westchester, California, and retired to Santa Clarita in 1998. They were married for 48 years.

Before retiring and spending years as a volunteer with The Special Olympics, Sue worked for thirty years in the hospitality industry for Marriott International, Inc. and then Hyatt Hotels Corporation, helping to open the JW Marriott and Park Hyatt in Century City, California. An avid reader, she also enjoyed quilting, traveling, and Pilates. Diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in 2010, she received a successful lung transplant in 2018.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, Allan; children, Lesly Bosch Annen (husband, Mac), TX; Kate Frisch-Walker (wife, Lanette), CA; Karl Vincent Frisch (partner, Evan Ayars), VA; and Kristina Frisch (husband, Stephen Falk), CA; grandchildren, Garrett Hans Annen and Shelby Ray Annen, TX; Bernadette Elizabeth Falk and Florence June Falk, CA; brother, Paul Vincent Gerlach, FL; sister in law, Linda Frisch, CA, and many dear friends.

The family will have a private celebration of life in Florida. Memorial donations may be made to UCLA Health Transplant Services or The Special Olympics.
